Vehicle fire sends 87 into action.
FEBRUARY 04
- This evening Westmoreland 911 activated station 87 for a vehicle fire at the intersection of Rt 130 and Pleasant Valley Rd. As the call was dispatched a unit from Penn Township ambulance arrived to find a working fire in the engine compartment of a passenger car. The car was parked in the parking lot of the CVS pharmacy. Ice Capades!!
DECEMBER 13
- As an early morning ice storm struck the region, rescue 87 was being dispatched on numerous motor vehicle accidents throughout the area. Within 3 hours, Harrison City Volunteers responded to over 5 accidents including one on the PA turnpike involving 2 tractor-trailers and over 7 cars. Fortunately, there were only minor injuries reported at each accident.

Back in business!
DECEMBER 11
- After nearly 3-weeks being out of service Truck 87 has returned back to the starting line-up. The Truck was involved in a minor backing incident and needed some repairs at Sutphen Corporation in Columbus, OH. The truck returned this evening and was placed in service once all of the equipment was back on the truck.
Special thanks to all firefighters who helped getting the truck ready to go.

Rescue 87 Responds on HC-Export Rd Pin Job
NOVEMBER 24
- At 17:52, Claridge VFD was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident, with injuries in the area of the bad bend on HC-Export Road. Shortly thereafter, rescue 87 was added to the alarm once minor entrapment was confirmed.
Rescue 87 went en-route with 5 firefighters and was requested to provide stabilization to the vehicle which was resting precariously on a hillside. Once on scene, air shoring and ... (Full Story & Photos)
