ENGINE 87 ASSISTS ON WAREHOUSE FIRE

APRIL 14 - At 10:44am, engine 87 was dispatched to assist station 65 (North Hempfield) with a working commercial structure fire at Graham's Dairy Supply on Business Route 66 just over the Penn Township line. Engine 87 was assigned to assist engine 63 (Claridge) establishing second water supply source. WRECK WITH MINOR ENTRAPMENT

MARCH 01 - Rescue 87 was dispatched to assist station 63 (Claridge) with a motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment shortly after midnight. Police arrived on scene, confirmed entrapment; however, the patient did not appear to be injured. Firefighters performed a side roof flap once the vehicle was stabilized with wood cribbing and air shore struts.

Westmoreland Animal Response Team and Mangery & Sons Crane Assist with Horse Rescue

JULY 05 - Harrison City Volunteers along with Penn Township EMS were dispatched to assist a resident whose horse had fallen over a hillside shortly after 4:00pm. Knowing that the we would need additional assistance the Westmoreland Animal Response Team (CART) along with Mangery and Son crane service were summoned to assist in the rescue effort of the 31 year old horse.

Congratulations to "Little Joey"

MAY 15 - On behalf of all members of the HCVFD family, we would like to congratulate firefighter Joe Laurica on recently graduating from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy. There were few who believed that Joey could make it through the intensive 28-week academy but he proved us all wrong.

Traffic Control, HCVFD assist Penn Township Police

MAY 01 - On Sunday morning around 11:00am, station 87 was dispatched to assist PTPD with traffic control on Pleasant Valley Road near General Weldments. Apparently a vehicle left the roadway and plunged 150+ feet down an embankment sometime during the early morning hours. The driver self-extricated and was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.
