At 17:52, Claridge VFD was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident, with injuries in the area of the bad bend on HC-Export Road. Shortly thereafter, rescue 87 was added to the alarm once minor entrapment was confirmed.
Rescue 87 went en-route with 5 firefighters and was requested to provide stabilization to the vehicle which was resting precariously on a hillside. Once on scene, air shoring and cribbing were utilized to stabilize the vehicle. Additionally, HC firefighters removed the passenger side door on the van to remove the patient from the vehicle.
Rescue 87 went back in service at approx 18:30 while squad 87 remained on scene assisting with traffic control.
