As an early morning ice storm struck the region, rescue 87 was being dispatched on numerous motor vehicle accidents throughout the area. Within 3 hours, Harrison City Volunteers responded to over 5 accidents including one on the PA turnpike involving 2 tractor-trailers and over 7 cars. Fortunately, there were only minor injuries reported at each accident.
As we begin the winter driving season, we urge everyone to slow down and use extreme caution when traveling on snow or ice covered roadways. Better yet, stay at home. You and your families safety should take priority over everything.
